Tamara Eckles is the founder of Jem of the South, the premiere on-line boutique to “Discover Something Sweet”.  She is also the host of “Discovering Sweet Success” Radio,  a program geared towards highlighting the successes of dessert business owners.  She also produces  of Rare Jems TV, another platform showcasing successful dessert businesses.

Tamara is a self-taught baker who has been tinkering in the kitchen since she as a young girl.   Since making her first cake from scratch, Tamara has been in love with all things sweet. Tamara’s signature dessert  “Jems” include homemade pralines, assorted homemade marshmallows, red velvet cake and chocolate chip toffee cookies.

When not creating yummy desserts in her own kitchen or seeking out hidden dessert jems, you can find Tamara cheering on her college Alma Mater, Clemson University on game day. Go Tigers!

Jessica Coates has been a fan of all things sweet and delicious ever since she can remember. Combine her love of sweets with a Stumbleupon addiction and she quickly fell into the world of food blogging. Jessica is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where she received a degree in broadcast journalism. She currently works with social media and does freelance writing. Katherine Coates got her first taste of the baking bug when she discovered the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe. Throw in a Kitchen Aid, baking blogs and recipe websites and she’s pretty much been baking non-stop ever since!

Katherine has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Virginia Commonwealth University (Go Rams !) and she’s been published in multiple Virginia newspapers, blogs and news websites.
