Who else loves Macy’s?? I do! From the Martha Stewart collection to their fabulous shoe department (that I have to avoid at all costs so that I don’t spend too much money) Macy’s is by far one of my favorite department stores. What you may be surprised to know is that Macy’s also has a Culinary Council. Yes, you read that right. A Culinary Council that includes the likes of Food Network’s Iron Chef Cat Cora, Chef Emeril Lagasse, Chef Rick Bayless and Chef Wolfgang Puck just to name a few.

I was thrilled to have the opportunity at a sneak peek of  the cookbook before it went on sale for the holidays. There are over 80 recipes from the 13 Culinary Council members. With over 80 recipes to choose from, it was challenging picking one recipe to make for this post.

Feast your eyes on the White Chocolate Pecan Pie I made compliments of the recipe provided by the Iron Chef herself Cat Cora! I’ve never made a pecan pie before I tried this recipe. I know, I know. I am from a town that hosts a Pecan Festival and I’m Southern. I actually wasn’t a fan of pecan pie, but when I saw this recipe I knew I had to make it. Why you ask? Because it includes white chocolate chips, my favorite  kind of chocolate!

Not bad for my first pecan pie attempt, huh?

There are so many other recipes I plan to try from breakfast and brunch recipes to festive holiday drinks.

It’s not a dessert, but I made the stuffing recipe from this cookbook with bread from Bakeshop in Midtown for Thanksgiving. I loved how it turned out!

Tamara! YUMMMY! Pecan Pie is one of my all time favorite things on Earth. Thanks for sharing and I hope that I get to try it sometime. You know that Danica is the Everywhere pie baker!

I LOVE making Cheesecakes! I used to have the Philadelphia Cheese Cheesecake book, I think I made all the baked cheesecakes in that book 4 times. To be figure friendly, I now make the mini chocolate cheesecakes, with mini chocolate chips from time to time.

My favorite holiday cooking traditions start the night before. They are: starting collard greens on the stove top, prepping mac-n-cheese for its next day meeting with the oven, and of course baking a couple of layered cakes. These traditions are shared with the fellowship of family and friends in the kitchen.
