Making decorated sugar cookies with my boys during the holidays. We did it three years ago for the first time and since then they ask every year to make and decorate them. I have the best time!!
Hi Peg! That is so sweet and exciting that your boys look forward to decorating cookies each year! Thanks for sharing.
My mom always spends a weekend during the holidays making Christmas cookies. I always loved making peanut butter cookie mice with her. Their peanut ears and licorice tails made them my favorite cookie.
Tamara, Thanks so much for speaking with me today, and for featuring my book! It was a great pleasure to meet someone with the same passion for sugary pursuits!

It was my pleasure as well Julia! I really appreciate you taking time out of your schedule to spend time with me. God bless!
How cute Andrea! I would love to see pictures if you have them.
We are often away for hols during Christmas and i wish i will have a year where i can spend time decorating christmas cookies with my daughter. I have a lot of christmas cookie cutters but all quite unused as i never seem to be able to use them for christmas. Hopefully this year will be different!
Hi Faithy! I have several unused cookies cutters as well. A few from for the Fall and one Christmas tree cookie cutter. Maybe we both will make good use of them this holiday season!
Making gingerbread cookies with my kids and the lingering fragrance.
When I was a stay-at-home mom, I made a gingerbread house every year with my son, Sweet William. When I went back to work full time, that tradition fell off a little, but this year I plan to build a gingerbread house and bake lots of cookies!
Wow Susan, a gingerbread house?! You are brave or I’m scared. LOL! I’m more of a cookie girl myself so I will see if I can take my cookie decorating skills to the next level this holiday season. We will see.
I love decorating cookies with my girls! It is fun and a great time to spend with the family.
I’m sure your girls will have fond memories of you decorating cookies with them Tosi!
I love decorating cookies Thanks for sharing
I just found your site and I am really excited that I did…Now,time to read and look at everything you have..Maybe I will win the ‘book’ YAY me!!…
I always baked a lot for the holidays, so I would delegate the “finishing” to my children. They had the job of jellying, chocolate dipping, and sprinkling
Hi Joanne! I like the sound of delegating. I wish I had that option.
I’m the baker, the clean-up crew, etc. I need some kids stat! LOL!
Hi Liliana! I’m glad you stopped by! Don’t be a stranger.
Thanks for stopping by Rosanna! I wish I could give everyone a book!
Happy reading!
This holiday season will be the first in 10 years that my immediate family and I will have the opportunity to visit Venezuela together since we migrated to the US. I am really looking forward to introducing and sharing the american tradition of decorating holiday cookies that I’ve come to love so much with my cousins, aunts and uncles.
I remember coloring on the kitchen floor as my mum baked and then afterwards we would get to decorate at the bench. Now that I am a mum to 3 kids I love to baked and decorate cookies with my own children. Maybe when my kids grow up they will think of me when baking their own cookies.
So sweet Linda! I’m sure your children will remember the time shared with you baking and decorating cookies. Don’t you just love making memories with dessert? Priceless!
Oooh, Venezuela! I’m sure your trip will be extra special Marianna after being gone for a decade! I would love to hear what your family thinks about the tradition of decorating holiday cookies. I hope you stop by after the holiday’s to share.
I remeber decorating cookies with my mum and eating half the icing and the sprinkles before we even decorated all the cookies so there where always some undecorated cookies. Now that I have a daughter and we bake and decorate cookies she has inherited my decorating skills and decorates one cookie and the worktop then decorates her face and satisfys her belly then back to decorating the cookie lol and it is a family tradition to always be left with undecorated cookies because we eat all the decorations lol
LOL! I love the fact that you decorate some cookies and some are left undecorated because you’ve eaten the decorations. Too cute!! Thanks for sharing your story Dimitra!
Yay!! Thank you so much!! I’m so excited!! Thank you!!
