Attention: this update has been about four weeks in the making. I’m not sure why I didn’t post it at the end 2011, but it’s still January so I think I”m good. For those of you who aren’t familiar with my Dessert Bucket List, it’s a list of desserts I planned to make in 2011. Take a peek at my 2011 list and the results of my dessert making adventures.
1- Bake a banana cheesecake: Didn’t make
2- Make Gingerbread: Nope
3- Make pumpkin whoopie pies: Do lemon whoopie pies count?
4- Bake a Lemon Pound Cake: Yes and no. First cake was not great, but the mini bundt cakes were AWESOME!
5- Make Lemon Squares: Yes, but they weren’t pretty. Good, but not pretty
6- Buy ice cream maker and make homemade ice cream: No ice cream maker purchased, but I made this cool two ingredient ice cream that required no ice cream machine. Winning!
7- Try a new homemade bread recipe (not sure what kind yet): Made this yummy peach bread. It was fabulous!
8-Bake Oatmeal Raisin Cookies: Nope.
9- Make homemade caramels: Didn’t happen
10- Make the perfect yellow cake!: Sigh, I didn’t make this either.
11- Angel Food Cake: Okay, let me explain.
12- Creme Brulee’: Um, what had happened was
13-Chocolate Souffle’: I got nothing
So, I may not have made all the things I wanted to make, but I made 5 out of 13 and I made some things that I didn’t add to my list like ginger cookies and baked doughnuts. So I really wasn’t a slacker.
I also did something really big for me and that was host my first event as a result of Dessert Bucket list blog post. Take at look at the video. It was a blast!
Be on the look out for my 2012 Dessert Bucket List next week. If you didn’t join in on the fun last year, I hope you join me this year!
At least you got some of them done.
Yes, Jovonn! I’m somewhat of a perfectionist so I would have liked to have made 10 out of 13. Not that 10 out of 13 is perfect, but it’s closer to having done all of them than doing less than half. I know, I know.
I love this video Tamara and this post! I need to make a video, but the way I look now would not be pretty
i’m with JoVonn – at least you tackled some on your list. the thought of baking makes me cringe, as such, i’ve pretty much mastered the no-bake cheesecake and pull apart sugar cookies. congrats on hosting the event and the video looks really nice!
Thanks Lynn! You should definitely make a video and I’m sure you look great!
Thanks Donna!! Hopefully if you keep visiting Jem, I will have some recipes that will entice you to try to make something. If not bake, maybe one of my fun sweet drinks!
LOL @ your updates for 8-13. You should be proud that you made a list and got at least one of them done. Your list was no joke!
Thanks Bella! I’m releasing my new list this week and it’s longer! LOL! Don’t ask me what I was thinking. I’m ambitious is all I can say.
